I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad....

I really don't understand why bands insist on sending out special and more comprehensive versions of their albums out after their initial release. Pulp's got a history of sending out limited editions with and extra live cd, and now the Libertines album's ready with an extra DVD - glad I haven't bought that one yet. To me this seems like a big "f*ck you" in the direction of hardcore fans who buys albums at the day of release. I once travelled all the way to Copenhagen just to get af special version of Head Music. If I had known then, what I know now, for instance that Head Music's a crap album, I might not have bothered, but that's beside the point. Special versions are for giving something back to the fans that buy your album first and there by helps you up the charts, not to force them to by the albums once again two months later for a shitty DVD and a couple of b-sides!

And whenever Arsenal's bad, United is always way worse - go go Pompey!

Were not composed enough to stay....

As neither of the three band with whom I bought singles in London turned our really spectacularrr, I've been listening almost exclusively to the second album, The Program, by britpop-never-got-anywhere-ers Marion, courtesy of Pernille. It's a really good album, and in my opinion a lot better that their first. It's nice to know that Johnny Marr can produce good albums and not just shitty ones, like Havens - now there's a band that's even shittier than Embrace!

It got me thinking about the good ol' britpop days, and how a lot of people got their personal never-got-anywhere favorite band. Pernille champions Marion, I have an ex-girlfriend with a Menswear fascination, and I'm pretty sure that I've got, at least Denmarks, biggest collection of Rialto cd's!And on that note I'll just mention that the Louis Elliot solo album is about at exciting as a over cooked cardboard.

And I've promised my little brother to link his blog, which is in fact a blog for him and his bowling team. So if you want rather funny bowling match reports, in Danish, tjeck out Bowling for Normik - which blog actually isn't called, but what the heck!

What's in a name....

So I've returned from London, and this time I've decided to actually share with you what I did over there. Last time I never got round to telling you about staying in Nick Caves old room and seeing Pet Shop Boys/The Thrills.

We landed in Stansted Thursday around 11. And as usual I went and bought NME and a packet of prawn cocktail crisps. A quick look through the concert calendar uncovered a sold out Delays concert, the before mentioned Superheroes concert and.... Selfish C*nt at The Garage! Eventhough nobody wanted to go and see this charming band with me, I decided to go. But alas, when I got to the Astoria ticket office, I discovered that it was cancelled - no Selfish C*nts this time! Not much else happened on Thursday.

Friday the whole shopping extravaganza of London started, although I actually managed to keep my economical situation in mind. Hence I bought only 3 singles, all by bands I didn't know, all picked out because of their great names. I give you: The Glitterati, Chikinki and Black Wire... and before you go "Well, Black Wire isn't a particularly super name" I must mention that their latest single is titled "Hard to Love, Easy to Lay", which is a way cool title!

Friday night we saw the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which just added to my dislike for musicals... it's simply not natural for people to smile that much!

On the way back to the hotel, I discovered that our local indie music hangout Sway has expanded to London with out telling us:

sadly the night flash on my camera wasn't working to well, so it's a bit on the dark side!

Saturday we went to White Heart Lane for the action packed Premier League game between Tottenham Hotspurs and Bolton Wanders! A what a crap game that was! The heavy rain didn't help, but I seriously doubt that these two teams

could have played a decent game of football on sunny summer day.
The highlight of the match was when Danish sort of ace Henrik "Tømrer" Pedersen was warming up in the second half.We had seats at the fourth row and as he passed us, my little brother jumped up and roared "KOM SÅ TØMRER", sending a jolt of surprise through the player, followed by a big smile and a thumbs up in our direction. Unfortunately for my dad who's a Tottenham fan, this attention spurred (pun intended) Tømrer along, and he scored Boltons winning goal only seconds after being substituted.

Sunday went with more shopping and a bit of sight seeing, this for example...

...is me looking very indie, hanging out at Mile End, the area made famous by Pulp on the Trainspotting soundtrack... it didn't look that bad in real life!

The journey home was sort of ruined by me catching the last 20 minutes of the United-Arsenal game at the airport pub (I came back for the crack you kno'!). It's not a big problem to me that Arsenal finally lost a game, it's just annoying that it was at the hands and feet of Manchester United, now stuttering Stan and his friends will have a swell time next time we meet them at the pub!

So that was more or less my trip to London... it'll be local news for the next couple of days....
