I'll bet penguins could fly if they really wanted to....
Send an order to amazon on monday, they dispatched it tuesday and today it got here - that darn fast. I got the Miss Black America cd, humbly titled God Bless Miss Black America and with a big Worship Here on the cover. it's having it's first run at the stereo right now, and it sound allright. I bought it because of the many comparisons to early Manics, and they given each song a "famous" quote in the sleeve, just like Manics did on their magnificent debut Generation Terrorists. The quotes in that cover were by Kierkegaard, Camus, Nietce and Sylvia Plath..... Miss Black America has choosen the different path of Eddie Izzard, Bill Watterson and the one and only Mother Theresa, and to be fair Kurt Vonnegut and William Blake... they are from Oxford you see!
The music, so far, sounds like a mix between Idlewild, Pureessense and someone I can't quite put my finger on right now.... all together ok, and they are pretentious f*cks just the way I like it!
my girlfriend got some Radiohead stuff. Hail to the Thief and ol' single Fake Plastic Trees, which to my suprise were wrappen in..... tadadada.. plastic! I lost interest in Thom "Pretentious in the bad way" York along time ago...
