"Start with a weak foundation,
you will end in ruins"

I finally got the new Morrissey CD, and it's a bit disappointing. The good ones are really ace, but there a bit too many quiet, sort of boring song. It has only had a few spins yet, so they might win me over!

But I'm still looking very much forward to see The Moz on the Roskilde Festival, and my presence at that concert is now confirmed:

Words don't come easy....

Things are going ai okay around here. First I'm going to review at SPOT10, which means free entrance to a lot of concert I otherwise wouldn't see. I recently mailed the co-ordinator my review wishes, and 6 outa 8 bands were from Norway... I didn't think there were 6 non-black metal bands in Norway, but apparently there is, and on paper they look way better than most of the Danish bands on show. Hopefully it will be good fun!

Second, yesterday I got tickets to a Q&A session this Saturday with no other that David Lynch. Alongside the Coen Brothers he is my all time favorite director, and I think to hear him talk about movies and peace on earth here in Århus will be a blast. So I'm looking very much forward to that!

"Arnesen, fluent in five languages" my ass! I have never heard a man with a worse pronunciation than him! He spend 10 years in Holland and he still can't pronounce a single Dutch name correctly. So good luck to Spurz, you deserve him!

And finally, I just placed an order for the new King Adora album 'Who Do You Love?'. Their first album was a brilliant glampunk record, and even though the first single from the new album hardly was a masterpiece, I look forward to hearing the whole thing.

"Because the music that they constantly play...."

Spend some time over the last couple of days writing a list of all my cds, and here it is. 386 records by 140 artists. The list includes painfully embarrasing things like Meat Loaf, Midnight Oil and a Stereophonics single, but nothing's been omitted!

I've just been to my (lost in) translation exam, and it probably went allright. The Danish to English piece was from Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten and the English to Danish was from a review of this book. The headline was "Peak Practice" (since it's about mountains and inspiration), and the pun is pretty untranslatable, so I rewrote it as "Bjergtagende Højder" (which is again (p)untranslatable).

To celebrate the new look of my blog in the most sicko way, I have adopted a fetus! I keep it in a jar just below my archives, and it's an adorable little cow fetus. If you want one of your own, they got loads of different types over at The Fetusmart.

(Update: The record collection link is now working)

Yes, things are escalating around here! First new template, now pictures... where will this end!!?!?

"A whole house will need rebuilding..."

Welcome to the brand new Brigthon Rock/Morrissey themed look of my blog. As it turned out there is no going back once you picked a new template... and let that be a lesson to you!
Therefore I've spend most of my afternoon fixing and mocking about with my new template, but now it's at least decent looking.

So what do you think - is it terrible?

And if the world does turn, and if London burns
I'll be standing on the beach with my guitar

Sooo, Arsenal won Premier League undefeated, and how very nice that was. There was a great atmosphere at the pub, although people looked a little worried when former Arsenal player, Paul Dickov scored in the first half!

The new Morrissey album really seems to part people. Either it's been given rave, 5 or 6 star reviews or it's been awarded measly 2! Jyllands Posten says 6 outa 6, Politiken along side Gaffa gives it 5 of 6 stars, all while both DR and The Guardian goes no higher than 2!
From what I heard at the listening party last Thursday, I think it's going to be pretty darn good, with quite a few obvious singles on it. Now all I have to do is wait, since the nice people at CD WOW has already dispatched my copy!
