I'm a sucker for....

Release date of Here Comes the Tears, and I bought it, obivously. Trying to explain people why, all I could come up with was "come on, it Brett... and Bernard!".

After listening through it five or six times, I consider it better than the last two Suede albums, but far far from fantastic, and even futher from Dog Man Star, which in my oppinion is the best album ever. Basically it's a Bernard Butler album, like his last two, with Brett Anderson on vox. The lyrics aren't anything to write home about, and numerouse times Bretts vocal seems surprisingly weak. On the other hand, I don't think anyone could sell me the lines "I can't control... my animal soul" better than him - it's a little glimpse of the brilliance that was!

Saw Sin City last Wednesday, and for some reason I didn't recongnize Josie as Rory outa Gilmore Girls... probably because I've never seen more than 2 minutes of it, despite its high inditegrity rating. It's a good film, but I might have gotten my hopes up a bit too high, as I am not a big fan of the aestetics of violence (hence I hated both Kill Bill movies!). Compared to The Interpreter, which I saw on Saturday, Sin City was Oscar Material. Somebody should tell Sidney Pollack that fictive countries in movies is something they did in The A-Team (I remember the banana republic of Curaguay)! Motoba my ass!

And I'm bying my ticket for the Roskilde Festival tomorrow....
